Floor Essence is a dancing booth that encourages freestyle solo dancing. By capturing the participants' movements and creating a visual expression for their dance, the booth seeks to evoke the body-consciousness characteristic of party dancers, characterized by spontaneous and uninhibited movement. The booth's purpose is to offer an experience of dance outside the accepted social context, providing a unique opportunity for a single person to dance freely and mindlessly.

Every dance was recorded and uploaded in real-time to the Floor Essence website, there the participants could see and download their dances, as well as viewing a visual map of the dance and the track that was playing in that moment.
